A short blog since the weekend is upon us, but if you feel your life is somewhat dull and tedious, perhaps going nowhere fast and lacking in excitement, might I suggest you log onto http://www.jbutler.org.uk/Summits/index.shtml to discover someone who really does need to get a life.

In essence this bloke seems to think every landscape prominence in the British Isles with an altitude in excess of about 100 metres ought to be catalogued and classified then, time permitting in between making his excruciatingly dull lists, perhaps walked up. And on the summit it is imperative that you take a photograph to prove, of course, that you have been there.

So much for the carefree joy of hillwalking – I reckon a day in the hills with this guy would be as much fun as watching S4C…
